Val Thorens, due to its altitude, benefits from very good snow conditions from the first snows at the end of November until spring skiing at the beginning of May.

Val Thorens offers a hudge off-piste area!

The off-piste area is huge since in addition to local skiing you can go down the south side in Maurienne (Orelle, Saint André, Beaune) or the north side on Les Menuires, Méribel or even Pralognan. The height differences can reach 2000m when the snow is perfect. If you put on your touring skis to do the 20 min to 1 hour of climbing that separates us from Paradise, the possibilities are impressive!
The classic off-piste trails are: Pierre-Fendue, Le Loup, Glacier de Chavière, Combe sans Nom, Glacier de Gébroulaz…

A little lower down, around Les Menuires or Saint Martin, the area is ideal for those who appreciate large slopes with often gentle reliefs where you can send the big curves! The Masse sector is strategic since it gives access to a multitude of descents on various orientations. Whether on the Lac du Lou, the most classic or on Les Encombres and its lost valley, or on Geffriand.
You have the choice between a pure off-piste version with possibly a little walking on skis on your back or an off-piste and hiking day with up to 1h15 of climbing.

Program of a Val Thorens off-piste ski day:

After getting to know each other and checking the equipment, we will test the troops during a first descent close to the slopes. Then depending on the level of the group, the snow conditions and the desires of each person; we will choose to go to the most suitable off-piste areas of the 3 Valleys or the Belleville Valley. We will combine the pleasure of skiing with the discovery of a wild and magnificent environment! Trust your high mountain guide, he skis off-piste every day! The meal will be according to your wishes, at the restaurant or as a picnic. The return is generally between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
