Ski touring: a great way to discover the wild side of Meribel and the 3 Valleys.
With ski touring, you will really enjoy your days as you trace the virgin powder! The still wild landscape, the calm, the immaculate snow even days after the last fall, in short, the real mountain. Whatever your experience, don’t hesitate and spend a memorable day during your stay in the three valleys, go for it!
Program of a ski touring day in Meribel :
As a general rule, a ski touring day in Meribel will start with a meeting around 9:00/9:30 at the ski lifts or at a location that suits you better. After checking the equipment and discussing the objectives in relation to the snow conditions, we will head towards the borders of the ski area. A first off-piste descent and it’s time to put on your skins and climb at your own pace towards a pass or summit chosen according to your level. A snack break is of course planned during or after the effort. Expect to be back around 4:00/4:30 p.m. at your resort.
What level for a ski touring outing in Meribel?
Beginner or advanced, the program will be personalized to your physical condition and your expectations. However, to fully appreciate the outing, you must have a skiing level equivalent to ESF class 3 and a reasonable physical condition allowing you to climb a minimum of 300m of vertical drop.
Contact me to discuss your fitness level if you are not sure if ski touring is suitable for you or someone in your group. You will find an example of outing on my blog here and also here.
