Four days to enjoy the best rock climbing routes in the Aravis:
This 4 day course is for climbers who want to explore the most beautiful routes in the Annecy and Aravis region. The climbing potential is enormous since there are many perfectly equipped routes in the 5th and 6th degree. The quality of the rock and the variety of styles make it a recognized destination. Compact slabs, vertical walls, grooves and holes are a specialty here. Most of the routes are located at an average altitude between 1000 and 2500m, which usually allows climbing from April to October.

Required level:
A minimum level of 5b in second is required and maximum 6b to fully enjoy this course. The supervision of a high mountain guide for a maximum of 3 students allows for the greatest efficiency.

Course program:
The multi-pitch climbing program is generally planned as follows:
Day 1 – Presentation of the course, definition of objectives and routes to be climbed, equipment check. Small revision of rope maneuvers in the morning on a small cliff of La Colombière in Le Grand Bornand (1 hour from Annecy). Then a multi-pitch route in the afternoon.
Day 2 – Multi-pitch route No. 2: Direction the Rochers du Midi where a good number of 200-250m routes have been equipped. Pillars and towers in superb rock are part of the scenery. With a bit of luck the Bearded Vulture, a magnificent bird of prey, will come to visit us at the bend of a pitch.
Day 3 – Multi-pitch route No. 3: We go to Le Sappey, a large rocky bar facing south and surrounded by bucolic mountain pastures. Here the rock is fabulous with its sometimes endless grooves… The height of the cliff is around 300m and a good thirty big routes have been equipped.
Day 4 -optional- Big route No. 4: A visit to the Grandes Suites is a must! This cliff overlooking Lake Annecy offers a magnificent panorama! Climbing is often done in the “Gouttes d’eau”, small holes patiently dug by the drops of water falling from the overhangs onto the slab. The work and precision of foot placements pay off!
